Toronto, ON

It’s been a successful, sunny summer here in downtown Toronto and there’s lots of fun news to catch you up on. Firstly, I’m excited to announce that we’ve finished all the recording for Trilogies, Part 2 — the newest instalment of my three-song EP series. The songs are sounding so beautiful and I can’t wait to share them with you. Many thanks to producer/engineer Chris Stringer for all his hard work and very special studio session guests Sahra Featherstone (violin) and Felix Deak (cello.) Stay tuned for album release info coming soon!

In other news, I’ve been quite inspired and productive with my various ongoing photographic projects. You can check out “Bound for Glory,” the latest sub-series in my ongoing Adventures In Sweetland self-portrait series here. I’ve also been working hard on a new set of images I refer to as The Sun Set. This series features kaleidoscopic digital collages of sunset images taken on my iPhone. My intention is to exhibit them sometime in the winter/early spring and will surely keep you all posted.

The most exciting thing of all that I have to report is that there’s soon to be a new and very cute member of the Sweetland family. I’m getting a puppy! She’s a gorgeous 8-week old blue merle Aussiedoodle from Yankee-doodle pups and I pick her up on Sunday. She already has her own Instagram account, of course, which you can find here. I named her Selkie, which means “little seal” in Gaelic and is also the name of the legendary half-seal half-human sea creatures of Scottish mythology. I’ve always loved those stories and now I have a little shape-shifting seal pup of my own. Can’t wait to share all the photos.

Woof,

xo
