Toronto, ON

Early in the pandemic during one of our original stay-at-home lockdowns, I began a fun little music video project for my song Night and the Gale. Similar to the video I previously made for Sunstone (link in comments), the concept was to shoot and edit it myself using just my iPhone and iMovie. The footage was to be a blend of both performance and nature adventure shots from my favourite local park (pretty much the only place I went during lockdown besides the grocery store…) Not long after I filmed the guitar performance part of the video, someone broke into my Toronto apartment and made off with my beautiful Lowden – as many of you already know.

I was so heartbroken by this event it honestly took me more than a year to even be able to watch the guitar performance footage I shot. Even though I’m still pretty far from over it, I’m definitely at the point where finishing the video felt better than not, an honouring of my guitar and the beautiful song it gave me. Night and the Gale is an acoustic guitar/soprano recorder duet I play with myself… so to speak. And even though my gorgeous pearwood Mollenhauer was sitting out beside my guitar during the break-in, apparently no one smashes down your front door to make off with your expensive recorder! Lol.

Stay tuned for the video release date coming soon. Excited to share this one with you all.
